Overview #3. The Setting: Convenient Access to Park-Like Surroundings
| |
Our preschool and elementary classrooms are in separate buildings. Both are
spacious, sunlit rooms with large windows overlooking the play yard and
adjacent canal. The large, fenced play yard contains swings, slides, balance
beams, a basketball hoop, a stone box and a wooden deck for scooters and
skipping. The children, under close supervision, go outside for fresh air,
exercise and play every morning, noon and afternoon, in all but the worst
weather.
We take full advantage of our beautiful country setting. The children enjoy
nature walks to observe many forms of birds and wildlife, including blue
heron, hummingbirds, woodpeckers, ducks, turtles, fish, beavers, raccoons and
deer.
