Our goal is to create a partnership with students to build kind, capable and enthusiastic minds.
Bright Beginnings Start Here
Established in 1988, Bright Horizons Montessori School in Orillia offers an authentic and progressive Montessori education in a vibrant learning environment. Located on 62 acres of woodland and marshes on the shores of Lake Simcoe, we hope to inspire a sense of wonder, a spirit of discovery, an appreciation of beauty and respect for all life in your child.
Montessori Materials: Developed to Stimulate and Teach
Our classrooms are not stocked with commercial toys that hold little educational value. Rather, our materials are developed by Dr. Maria Montessori through her years of research. Dr. Montessori recognized that children can grasp abstract ideas better when they are represented by physical objects. This led her to design materials that allow the child to proceed toward abstract thinking in the realms of math, language and more. Eventually, the child recognizes that the mind is faster than the hand and dependency on the material is no longer necessary.
Programs for Preschool to School-Age Children
We offer a Preschool CASA program (2 1\2—5 years) and an Elementary Program (6-12 years). We also offer extended care for parents who need extra child care between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. We invite you to tour our website to learn more about us. However, we believe the best way to get a feel for what Bright Horizons Montessori School is all about, is to visit when one of our classes are in session.
Small Class Sizes for an Enriched Learning Experience
Classes thrive when children have the attention they need. Bright Horizons Montessori School is committed to providing high level education for every child. We offer small classes, low student-teacher ratios and most importantly, Montessori certified teachers.
